by

“Elegant, sensual and balanced, with the power of Pommard” -Catherine Parent

Parent’s is a story of rising above adversity, making history and ushering in a new generation of female winemakers. In a land where women were for many centuries not allowed close proximity to winemaking. Long thought that their presence would taint its delicate process. Ann Parent took over the family’s estate in 1999. Simultaneously shaking up the sleepy town of Pommard. Despite the skeptics the years have proven her talents, both inside and out of the Domaine. She has become on of the most respected winemakers in the area. Also, founding Femmes et Vins de Bourgogne in 2000. Bringing women winemakers together throughout the golden slope.
Now representing the 12th generation, Parent is the heart of Pommard. Their estate was occupied by the Germans in WWII, as it was unquestionably the best accommodations in town. The 10H of vines, predominately Pommard and its 1er Crus, are organically farmed. Hand picked, natively fermented and aged with a judicious use of oak. Thomas Jefferson considered their ancestor, Etienne Parent, a personal advisor and friend. Bringing back both prized bottlings and cuttings to a freshly founded America. The Pinot Noir did not survive the climate of Virginia, but our histories are undoubtable tied.
